Service is absolutely the best. A big shout out to Gobindo Da for not only accompanying us in the safaries but also for tending to our other needs. The resturaunt serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast is complimentary while for lunch and dinner we have to inform beforehand. During the safari a packet lunch of sandwiches, fruits, juice will be packed that can be consumed at a rest stop during the safari. Coming to the grounds, multiple cottages amongst a betel nut tree Grove. Cottages are very comfortable with all necessary amenities including running hot water. A bonfire will be made upon request which is chargeable. Sikhiri Cottages, Manas National Park, Bansbari Range, Barengabari, District – Baksa, BTC, Assam – 781315
Sikhiri Cottages sits at the edge of Manas National Park, on the doorstep of one of India’s most biodiverse UNESCO World Heritage Sites — close enough to Guwahati for an easy short travel, remote enough to feel like a proper escape, still a true off-beat location.
By Air The nearest airport is Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, Guwahati, roughly 150 km / 3 hours from the property. From there, guests can take a pre-arranged taxi, a out destination cab or contact us for pickup arrangements.
By Rail The nearest railway station is Barpeta Road, approximately 30 km / One hour away, also there is New Bongingaon Railway Station approx. 100 Kms away, well connected to major cities across India.
By Road Sikhiri Cottages is roughly 160 km, 3 hours by road from Guwahati via Pathshala/Bhawanipur. The drive takes you through the Assam countryside and paddy-growing regions before reaching the edge of the park — a scenic journey in its own right.
From Siliguri There is another approach to The Sikhiri Cottages, Manas National Park i.e. from West Bengal side. By rail – Take a train from New Jalpaiguri Railway Station and get down at Barpeta Road. Drive from Darjling, Sikkim or Siliguri, just follow the google map, it is approx 7 to 10 hours drive depending on starting point.
