Sikhiri Cottage is a unit of
OFF-BEAT TOURISM INDIA (OPC) PRIVATE LIMITED.

The name SIKHIRI is taken from the Bodo language meaning BUTTERFLY.Located on the edge of the Manas National Park. It’s a man-made forest with a sprinkle of cottages for different categories. Feel is kept close to nature and a major component in construction is local Bamboo. While it gives a rustic feel yet it has the charm of walking down a winding cobbled path, ample privacy, and some cottages accommodate an entire family of four. With personal sit out facing perennial forest river own dining space and even a place for a bonfire in winters.

Similarly, there are luxury cottages with all facilities and private sit out on a perch, to enjoy solitude and yet remain close to nature.

Another set of cottages are set up to give the feel of a modern village, wherein a group staying in their private cottage yet close to each other.

The resort on its own is a paradise for Botanical enthusiasts. You will get surprised by the variety of bamboo clumps and some unique herb plants and trees.

Nestled in the foothills of the Bhutan Himalayas, the Manas National Park is an UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site, a Biosphere Reserve, and a Tiger Reserve. Home to critically endangered, endemic species like the Pygmy Hog (Porcula salvania), Hispid Hare (Caprolagus hispidus), Golden Langur (Tracypithecus geei), Red Panda (Ailurus fulgens), and Bengal Florican (Houbaropsis bengalensis), it also harbors other iconic species like the Tiger, Elephant, One-horned Rhinoceros and the Clouded Leopard. It is an avian and butterfly wonderland. The Sikhiri Cottages, nudging the Park boundary, on the banks of a perennial stream gurgling out of the Park, offers three exclusive, well-furnished cottages, each capable of accommodating four adults in two double beds. Tailored for privacy with its own integral dining area, verandah, garden, and bonfire area, it is embedded in a surrounding that has been painstakingly converted to a botanical paradise with rare and beautiful trees, shrubs, creepers and bamboos sourced from all over the world. Activities that can be arranged include wildlife sighting excursions on vehicles, on elephant back or by rafting, drifting down on a 35 km stretch of the Manas river from the Bhutan border to the southern park boundary- a day-long unique adventure.

Located on the edge of the Manas National Park. The property consists of independent bamboo fusion cottages with accommodation for 2/4 pax each and with attached toilets, verandah, dining space, enclosed garden with fireplace. It offers complete privacy and exclusivity with a riverfront view. Rare tropical ornamental plants and bamboos sourced from all over the world make it a botanical paradise.

A wildlife enthusiast and conservationist by heart now retired from the Indian Army.

Held Guinness world record for the highest number of tree saplings planted (40885 Saplings) in an hour by a team of hundred soldiers near Kokarajhar.

Also, an avid mountaineer, lead a team of Indian Army and British SAS to ascend virgin peak Mt. Tingchen Khang in Sikkim. Whitewater Rafting, Microlight flying are some other hobbies he enjoys.

Has dedicated his time and money to set up a company (Utopian Options) under which he has procured land in 16 major National Parks of India.
